Virtual Observer- Nights 7PM-7AM

Reports to the Manager of Virtual Health Inpatient, the Virtual Observer (VO) plays a critical role in patient safety by remotely monitoring patients requiring continuous observation from a centralized unit at the Ft Thomas Hospital while collaborating with the healthcare team across all hospital campuses.

Responsibilities

• Provide observation of patients at risk for falls, confusion, combativeness, or other indicated behaviors to ensure patient safety.
• Act within all policies and communicate/redirect patients to keep them safe until nursing staff arrives in case of escalation.
• Maintain patient confidentiality; do not discuss patient care with anyone, including family.
• Understand unit layout for emergency needs and document observations in the medical record as required.
• Continuously observe patient behavior, mental status, and activities; notify the bedside team of any changes or unusual occurrences.
• Identify patient behaviors requiring intervention and maintain positive patient communication.
• Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality; perform safety checks at scheduled times and document appropriately.
• Perform other duties as assigned to assist in patient treatment effectiveness and ensure patient safety.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently, interdependently, and set priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to accept and adapt to change.
• Understand the need for assistance in the event of patient distress.
• Basic computer proficiency; familiarity with electronic medical records is preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience is preferred.

Pay

Starting at $15.00 per hour, plus shift differential for eligible shifts.

Schedule

Nights, 7PM–7AM, 36 hours per week.
