Virtual Data Analyst / Entry Level (Remote)

Smartly Technologies is seeking an entry-level Virtual Data Analyst to support its team in managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, software and web delivery, technical support, systems, data, projects, and customer service. This full-time, 100% remote role is available to candidates throughout the United States.

About the role

Your responsibilities will center on collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and explaining business data through reliable reports, dashboards, trends, and practical insights.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, organize, and analyze data from approved spreadsheets, databases, reports, or systems used by Smartly Technologies.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, or tracking files that show performance, trends, exceptions, and key metrics.
• Investigate unusual values, missing records, and inconsistencies and document corrections or recommended follow-up.
• Translate analytical findings into clear summaries for managers and cross-functional teams.
• Maintain definitions, calculations, filters, source notes, and documentation so reporting remains consistent and reproducible.
• Support ad hoc analysis while protecting confidential business and customer information.

Requirements

• Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills; experience with SQL, BI, reporting, or visualization tools is helpful.
• Comfort working with structured datasets and validating calculations, filters, and source quality.
• Ability to explain findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and documentation habits.
• Ability to manage recurring reports and ad hoc requests in a remote environment.
• A pre-employment background check is required.

Pay

$73,000 - $81,500 per year
