About the Opportunity:The Vietnamese Interpreter provides on-demand video and audio interpretation between Vietnamese and English speakers. This remote role plays a critical part in facilitating communication across multiple industries such as healthcare, government, insurance, finance, law enforcement, and emergency services. The position requires quick, accurate interpretation while navigating cultural sensitivities and complex or technical topics. It supports the organization’s mission to eliminate language barriers and improve access to essential services. 3. Responsibilities:Respond promptly to video and audio interpreting sessions with professionalismParticipate in online training sessions for skill developmentDeliver interpretation via video and input data accurately on various devicesRender concepts clearly according to interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additionsSpeak clearly with proper pronunciation, enunciation, and politenessMaintain professionalism throughout interpreting sessionsStay calm during calls, including emergencies or when speakers are upsetBe punctual and available during scheduled hoursFollow client instructions and protocol, ensuring appropriate interaction with Limited English-speaking Persons (LEP)Understand terminology and protocols across industries such as medical, insurance, finance, and lawDemonstrate cultural sensitivity and work effectively in a diverse environmentManage high call volumes and emotionally stressful calls while maintaining service standards 4. Requirements:Fluency in Vietnamese and English, with cultural competencyAbility to assess regional and accent differences and communicate effectively with LEPStrong listening, retention, and note-taking skills for accurate interpretationAbility to stay neutral, objective, and focused during sensitive or challenging conversationsPreferred education or experience in language-related fields such as teaching, assessment, translation, or interpretationAdaptability to technology enhancements for service deliveryMinimum age of 18Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future 5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:Pay ranges from $20 to $23 per hour, depending on location, experience, and work availability 6.
