VIE - Data Analyst (H/F) - New York
Context and Mission
As part of the expansion of its cloud Data Platform in the United States, Hermès is transforming its data assets. You will join this initiative at a pivotal moment: when analytical foundations are being built. Your mission is to ensure that data is reliable, well-documented, and actionable. The VIE will be a key liaison between US business teams and the HDTI Analytics & AI team, contributing both to data reliability and to its valorization via Power BI. You will also form an operational pair with the Analyst Engineer VIE on the same program: one builds the foundations, the other leverages them. This position primarily requires a strong functional understanding of data: knowing how to analyze a dataset, understand its business meaning, identify anomalies, and document with rigor. Technical mastery is a lever, but the ability to assimilate functional processes is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Standards & best practices relay: Act as the local relay for standards, methodologies, and best practices defined for data analysis and BI development, ensuring their adoption and compliance within the US team.
- Exploration & retro-documentation of existing systems: Establish a data diagnosis of the US existing landscape. Produce data profiles and document anomalies and risk areas, constituting the reference mapping of the data assets before migration. Identify implicit business rules in existing data to feed the target modeling. Build the project's analytical memory.
- Quality analysis & gap detection: Compare source data (local platform) to new Snowflake data models, perimeters, and definitions, and produce actionable gap analyses for engineering teams. Formalize identified discrepancies and propose reconciliation or transformation rules. Monitor data quality indicators throughout the migration process, ensuring continuous visibility on data reliability status.
- Dashboard development & reporting: Deliver the first operational reports post-migration to US business teams, with visible impact from the first weeks: translating data into decisions. Develop Power BI dashboards on the new Data Platform's semantic layer, respecting Hermès certification standards. Contribute to the adoption of the new platform by business teams by making data accessible, readable, and reliable.
- Collaboration & documentation: Work closely with the Analyst Engineer VIE and the Analytics & AI teams in Paris to ensure deliverable consistency. Systematically document analyses, hypotheses, and conclusions in the team's reference tools. Contribute to business qualification workshops to validate business rules and data definitions.

- Ability to perform data profiling and interpret data quality indicators
- Knowledge of Snowflake or a cloud data warehouse is a plus

What You Will Find
- A high-stakes mission on a strategic data transformation program
- A bridging role between US IT & business teams and central data teams, with strong visibility from the start
- Based in the United States, you will operate in an environment with a strong entrepreneurial culture, with real autonomy and direct exposure to local business teams from the first month
- VIEs who succeed in this mission are likely to join HDTI's Analytics & AI teams at the end of their contract, in France or internationally. This position is a springboard, not a parenthesis
