Video Lead Technician

About the role

The Video Lead Tech ensures company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols are adhered to while working with professional video equipment. This role reports to the Video Manager in the warehouse and the Show Manager on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and break down shows for corporate events, trade shows, exhibits, concerts, theatrical productions, and similar events.
• Direct tasks to video/LED technicians and stagehands onsite as Crew Chief.
• Track and monitor onsite equipment.
• Program switchers/LED processors and collaborate with sales/staff to produce show diagrams.
• Ensure all equipment and packages are 100% complete and show-ready by assisting in prepping equipment for outbound orders.
• Troubleshoot damaged equipment and communicate courses of action to the Manager.
• Use Flex Rental Inventory software.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Assist in daily warehouse duties when not on a show site, as delegated by the Manager.
• Maintain a positive and supportive attitude; report personnel conflicts, grievances, or policy violations to the Manager.

Requirements

• Required experience in programming and operating Broadcast Pix/Blackmagic Switchers.
• Minimum 3 years of experience using industry equipment.
• Experience programming in NovaStar, Envision, and LED Studio Software.
• Experience blending/stacking projectors.
• Experience leading video crews onsite for load-ins, shows, and load-outs.
• Knowledge of rigging equipment and practices (a plus).
• Ability to work days, nights, and weekends.
• Physical ability to load/unload trucks, overhead lifting, lift over 50 lbs, and push items over 100 lbs daily.
• High School Diploma required; college education preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clear motor vehicle record; reliable transportation and punctuality required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of Flex Inventory control software (a plus).
