About the role
The Victim Witness Assistant position in the St. Louis Office will provide support to victims and assist with coordinating services and resources.
Responsibilities
- Provide information and assistance to victims, including crisis intervention resources, medical treatment, legal rights, housing options, employment services, and transportation assistance.
- Coordinate with law enforcement to assist victims with property return and report copies.
- Secure travel and lodging reservations for victims and witnesses at government rates.
- Establish and maintain working files containing relevant correspondence and reports.
- Generate a variety of written documents and materials using office software applications.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship or Nationality
- Pre-employment adjudication including fingerprint, credit, and tax checks, and drug testing.
- Continued employment subject to a favorable background investigation.
- Registration for Selective Service, if applicable.
- Time-in-Grade requirement within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Qualifications
- GS-7: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-6 level in Federal Service, including tracking case status and assisting with trial preparation.
- GS-08: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 level in Federal Service, including providing victim and witness assistance services.
Special Considerations
- ICTAP/CTAP eligible for displaced Federal employees.
- VEOA eligible for veterans with a 30% or more service-connected disability.
