Vice President, Technology Operations
About the Role
The organization is seeking an experienced technology operations leader with direct experience in data, data operations, hosting infrastructure, public and private cloud environments, development operations, and cybersecurity. This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead the adoption and usage of advanced AI technologies across the operations organization to improve internal efficiency and accelerate product and business outcomes.
- Track technology operational trends and AI advancements, identifying creative solutions to drive efficiency and greater throughput.
- Provide leadership, vision, and strategy driving automation, stability, and availability of technology infrastructure leveraging cloud and on-premise technologies to support business agility.
- Drive innovation across security, data privacy, data operations, development operations, and infrastructure.
- Define the technology operations strategy and roadmap to support current and future business needs for scalability, capacity, and quality of service, including performance, reliability, and business continuity.
- Define requirements for new technology implementations and communicate them to key business stakeholders.
- Partner with senior leadership across the business to realize measurable outcomes aligned with business expectations.
- Drive the execution of security, data, infrastructure, and technology operations initiatives to achieve targets for scalability, performance, and availability.
- Assess and communicate risks associated with technology-related investments and purchases.
- Support business growth initiatives by aligning technology operations with business strategy.
- Develop business case justifications and cost-benefit analyses for technology operations spending and initiatives.
- Implement the people, processes, and technologies necessary to meet customer demands.
- Define, maintain, and present regular operational metrics to executive leadership, including overall security, data, and infrastructure health, risk areas, and productivity.
- Define, measure, and improve technology standards across the organization to establish a technology-enabled competitive edge.
- Provide technical assessments and due diligence for potential acquisitions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or engineering.
- 15 years of experience managing technology operations across development operations, data, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
- Extensive knowledge and direct experience applying AI tools and methodologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Strong technical background in environments featuring a heterogeneous mix of on-premise, hosted, and cloud hardware and software.
- Experience with operational technologies for the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of large-scale SaaS platforms.
- Experience with hosting operations and leading cloud migrations involving AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts to optimize expense costs.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to convey technical details and strategy to non-technical leadership.
- Demonstrated success leading modernization and transformation initiatives across data and infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity methodologies and practices.
- Demonstrated success leading large, diverse global teams and attracting and retaining talent.
- Expert knowledge of technology environments, including networks, operating systems, databases, and application and web servers.
- Technical experience in systems networking, databases, infrastructure, and user support.
- Experience defining standardized operating procedures and services across operational disciplines.
- Experience in strategic technology planning, execution, and policy development.
- Experience with business processes, management, and budgeting.
- Strong understanding of project management principles.
- Proven experience in planning, organization, and development.
- Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
- Experience with acquisition due diligence and integrations.
Pay
The salary range for Zone 1 (National Average) is $282,000 to $322,000 USD per year. Compensation is determined by experience, qualifications, role requirements, and location based on a four-tier geographic zone model (Zone 1: National Average; Zone 2: Moderately Higher Cost Regions; Zone 3: High-Cost Regions; Zone 4: Lower-Cost Regions). Eligible employees have the opportunity for variable pay.
