Role Overview

The role is to lead the maintenance and technical improvement activities within the manufacturing division. It is also about leading local R&D activities for development of new products or features as well as the production rig manufacturing and retrofit team, executing engineering directives from global headquarters for global applications in 6 factories in Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance and technical improvement organization, ensuring high equipment uptime, precision, and operational stability.
  • Guide the retrofit and rig manufacturing team including its department head, to implement upgrades and new builds based on HQ Engineering specifications.
  • Steer the development team, including its department head, to develop product features and improvements for local markets based on HQ Marketing and R+D specifications.
  • Drive life cycle management of high-value production equipment.
  • Ensure alignment with global engineering standards and directives.
  • Collaborate with peer VPs and global stakeholders to support factory-wide strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct organizational transformation and continuous improvement programs.
  • Build and develop high-performing technical teams for new and evolving activities.
  • Implement and optimize business processes related to maintenance, retrofits, and technical operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and operational excellence.
  • Steer the manufacturing engineering team including its department head, to ensure preparedness for capacity planning for volume growth, planning and monitoring of Investment roadmap, ensuring lean production concepts and developing and life cycle management of manufacturing processes.
  • Guide a Team of MES software development team including its department head, to ensure development and implementation of SAP MES applications and digital manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • Masters / PHD in electrical or mechanical engineering / Master of Business Administration or equivalent and LEAN Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Min. 15 years of experience
  • Min. 10 years of leadership in manufacturing complex industrial products and/or machinery, industrial engineering, and product development
  • Min. 5 years’ experience in leading managers
