Position Summary

We are seeking a Vice President, Global Tax to lead a truly global tax function covering significant tax matters across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing and operating a best-in-class public company tax function following Wella's IPO, ensuring robust tax reporting, governance and controls in a U.S.-listed environment. This role is a key member of the Finance leadership team, reporting to the SVP Corporate Finance, and partnering closely with the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Audit Committee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute global tax strategy aligned to business priorities, balancing compliance, risk management, and efficiency
  • Lead and develop a global team of tax professionals based in the United States, Switzerland, Brazil and other markets, fostering a high-performance culture, collaboration, accountability and professional growth
  • Lead all aspects of the global tax function, including US GAAP income tax accounting (ASC 740), SEC reporting (Forms 10-K and 10-Q), global tax planning, transfer pricing, tax compliance, controversy, indirect tax oversight and tax governance
  • Identify and remediate gaps across tax reporting, compliance, and governance frameworks
  • Serve as primary advisor to the CFO, Executive Leadership Team, and Audit Committee on all tax matters
  • Lead all aspects of global tax including planning, compliance, reporting, transfer pricing, and US GAAP tax accounting
  • Own all aspects of US public company tax reporting, including quarterly and annual ASC 740 tax provision, SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K), earnings release support, tax footnote disclosures, uncertain tax positions, valuation allowances, deferred taxes and SOX controls
  • Oversee complex tax matters across major jurisdictions including the United States, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America
  • Lead significant global tax audits, disputes and controversy matters across multiple jurisdictions
  • Build, scale, and optimize the global tax operating model, including internal team and external advisors
  • Optimize effective tax rate (ETR) and cash flow while protecting corporate reputation
  • Lead a large network of external advisors across multiple jurisdictions while ensuring consistent quality, accountability and cost discipline
  • Drive modernization of tax processes, systems, and governance frameworks
  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Treasury, Legal, and business teams

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive tax leadership experience in a global, publicly traded or similarly complex organization
  • Significant experience leading or managing tax within a US-listed multinational company, including responsibility for quarterly and annual SEC reporting under US GAAP
  • Deep expertise across corporate tax, international tax, transfer pricing, and tax reporting
  • Strong executive presence with experience engaging CFO, Board, and Audit Committee
  • Proven track record building and transforming tax teams and operating models
  • Experience operating in complex, global multi-jurisdictional environments (LATAM & Europe experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance governance and business priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Tax, Law, Finance, or MBA) preferred
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Experience in private equity-backed environments or large-scale business transformation a plus

Pay Range

$300-350,000 salary per year.
