Vice President - Strategic Business Management, Chase Auto
About the role
Chase Auto serves as a leading provider of auto financing to dealers, consumers, and manufactures, with a portfolio of over $80 billion in assets and relationships across 75% of U.S. franchised automotive dealers. The Commercial Solutions group within Chase Auto delivers a full suite of commercial banking solutions for auto dealers, including Treasury Services, floorplan, real estate and acquisition financing, liquidity management and other banking solutions. You will lead the business growth strategic agenda for Chase Auto Commercial Solutions and drive end-to-end delivery of priority initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Solve open-ended, ambiguous business and strategic problems for the Commercial Solutions and Chase Auto business
- Build clear data-, hypothesis-, and consensus-driven strategies, with clear recommendations and narratives
- Structure and drive cross functional strategic projects from discovery to execution, organizing teams, scoping requirements, facilitating productive meetings, surface risks early with clear asks and options, and quantifying impact
- Translate qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable executive recommendations
- Monitor market/competitor trends and translate insights into recommendations. Identify issues and actionable opportunities proactively, adapt project plans as needed, considering implications for both project and broader business strategy
- Collaborate, build relationships, and influence stakeholders across functional areas (e.g., product, finance, tax, legal, marketing, risk, data analytics, etc.)
- Develop and deliver senior level communications, simplifying complex subject matter into clear, compelling narratives appropriately tailored to the audience
- Share best practices, coach team members, and contribute to building overall team capabilities
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience in strategy, consulting, business management, or growth roles
- Demonstrated experience building data driven strategies with clear recommendations and narratives
- Strong data analysis skills with 3+ years of experience conducting quantitative analysis with advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Ability to leverage data and directional feedback to structure complex problems and make decisions
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills with proven experience, collaborating across teams and influencing diverse stakeholders in complex organizations
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex subject matter into digestible executive communications, developing executive presentations with advanced proficiency in MS PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High level of personal initiative, comfortable operating within ambiguity, and demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership; intellectual curiosity and propensity to learn new subjects quickly
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- 3+ years of post-MBA experience
- Consulting experience, especially with strategy-to-execution work
- Experience in Financial Services
