Vice President, Product Marketing
About the role
The VP, Product Marketing is a pivotal leadership role responsible for defining and driving how Billtrust’s solutions are positioned, messaged, and brought to market. You will leverage AI tools and co-worker agents to accelerate competitive intelligence, campaign narrative development, and go-to-market execution, focusing you & your team’s expertise on the market insight, strategic judgment, and cross-functional alignment that only a seasoned leader can provide. This role reports into the CMO and sits at the intersection of Product, Sales, and Marketing, translating complex AR and fintech capabilities into differentiated compelling stories that win in the market. You will own the product marketing function end-to-end, from buyer and market research to product launches, sales enablement, competitive intelligence and analyst relations, and build an AI-powered team that sets the standard for speed, quality, and impact across Billtrust’s go-to-market engine. A central part of this mandate is overhauling how Billtrust launches products: building a launch discipline that creates genuine market moments, ones that shift how buyers and analysts frame the problem, reposition the competitive landscape, and make it unmistakably clear why Billtrust is different.
Responsibilities
- Define and own Billtrust’s product positioning, messaging architecture, and value proposition framework across the full AR lifecycle portfolio, ensuring differentiation in a competitive fintech landscape.
- Use AI-powered market intelligence tools and co-worker agents to continuously monitor the competitive landscape, synthesize buyer signals, and inform strategic positioning decisions at speed.
- Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer and Product leadership to align product roadmap investments with market opportunity and translate technical capabilities into market-ready narratives.
- Overhaul Billtrust’s product launch process from the ground up, replacing incremental releases with high-impact market moments that command attention, shift category perception, and give the company a platform to assert its differentiated position in AR and B2B payments.
- Build a launch framework that integrates every dimension of a world-class go-to-market: company-wide enablement so every team member can tell the story, customer validation that proves the value before the market hears it, a clear monetization strategy, and a narrative that reframes how buyers and analysts look at the challenge, not just what Billtrust built, but why the old way of thinking about it no longer applies.
- Establish an AI-accelerated launch playbook that enables the team to produce launch assets, battlecards, and segment-specific messaging at a fraction of traditional timelines, without sacrificing the strategic quality or narrative cohesion that makes a launch land.
- Develop and maintain buyer personas, customer journey maps, and segment-specific messaging for Billtrust’s key verticals, informed by customer interviews, win/loss analysis, and data-driven insights.
- Build and continuously improve a world-class sales enablement program, equipping field and inside sales teams with the messaging, tools, and content needed to win competitive deals and accelerate pipeline velocity.
- Deploy AI-powered content generation and personalization workflows to scale enablement asset production, while ensuring all materials reflect Billtrust’s strategic voice and competitive positioning.
- Track and report on product marketing’s direct contribution to pipeline, win rates, and revenue growth, using data to continuously improve programs and demonstrate clear business impact to executive leadership.
- Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing product marketing team, setting a clear vision, building accountability structures, and championing a culture of AI-first thinking across every workflow.
- Represent Billtrust externally through analyst relations (Gartner, Forrester, IDC),
