Position Summary

ParetoHealth is helping employers take control of one of their largest and fastest-growing expenses: healthcare. Our platform combines risk management, cost containment, analytics, data, and technology to help employers lower costs, improve outcomes, and create greater predictability in healthcare spending. As we continue to grow, we have an opportunity to transform a collection of products, workflows, data assets, and ecosystem integrations into a more unified and differentiated platform experience. This is where the VP of Product comes in. We are seeking a VP of Product to lead the next stage of our product organization and platform evolution.

Organization

  • The VP of Product will inherit and lead a growing product organization that currently includes leadership and product management capabilities across:
    • Underwriting Products
    • Customer Experience Products
    • Data & Analytics Products
  • This role is focused on scaling and strengthening the organization rather than building it from scratch. This leader will evaluate organizational structure, develop future leaders, clarify ownership and responsibilities between areas and other departments, and ensure the organization is positioned to support Pareto's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Scale the Product Organization
  • Develop Product Leaders and Create Clear Career Paths, Expectations, and Accountability
  • Evaluate Organizational Structure and Make Recommendations Regarding Team Design, Ownership, and Future Growth
  • Build a High-Performance Culture Focused on Outcomes, Customer Value, and Execution Excellence

  • Build the Product Operating System
  • Create Scalable Operating Models for Planning, Prioritization, Roadmap Management, Execution, Stakeholder Engagement, and Product Reviews
  • Create Frameworks for Business Cases, Investment Decisions, Product Quality, and Success Measurement
  • Increase Transparency, Predictability, and Consistency Across the Product Development Process
  • Shape Product Strategy and Investment Decisions
  • Partner with Executive Leadership to Define the Future Direction of Pareto's Platform
  • Develop Informed Points of View on Market Opportunities, Customer Needs, and Strategic Investments
  • Lead and Support Business Case Development for Major Initiatives and Product Investments
  • Help Drive Build-Versus-Buy Decisions and Portfolio Prioritization
  • Improve Customer and Internal Experiences
  • Drive Improvements Across the Experiences That Matter Most to Customers, Consultants, and Internal Teams
  • Simplify Complex Workflows Related to Implementation, Reporting, Decision Support, Renewals, and Ongoing Account Management
  • Ensure Product Investments Create Measurable Value for Customers and the Business
  • Partner with Analytics and Engineering to Deliver Results
  • Ensure Product Management Teams Are Focused on the Highest-Value Opportunities

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ Years of Product Management Experience with Significant Leadership and Management Responsibility
  • Experience Leading Product Managers and Product Management Leaders
  • Track Record of Building and Scaling Product Management Organizations
  • Experience Creating Operating Models, Planning Processes, and Defining and Iterating on Organizational Structure
  • Strong Strategic Thinking Combined with Practical Execution Capability
  • Ability to Influence Across Functions and Operate Effectively in Complex Organizations
  • Familiarity with Fast-Moving, Startup Environments
  • Experience with Enterprise Software, Operational Systems, Healthcare, Insurance, Fintech, or Other Complex Regulated Industries is Preferred
