About the role
Kroll’s Portfolio Valuation practice is the leading provider of valuation advisory services to the alternative investment industry. We serve a prestigious clientele of the world’s leading alternative asset managers. Operating globally, we specialize in valuing illiquid and hard-to-value investments where no “active quotes” are available. Our expertise spans a wide range of alternative asset strategies, including private equity, hedge funds, credit, venture capital, and infrastructure.
Day-to-day Responsibilities
- Develop financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses
- Conduct valuation analysis on a diverse range of illiquid investments distributed across industries and geographies, employing established and relevant approaches and theory
- Manage teams of senior associates and analysts
- Conduct client interviews, including face-to-face meetings, to gather essential data and information for engagements
- Collaborate with internal and external management teams to cultivate and strengthen client relationships
- Identify and communicate potential engagements to management and lead the engagement proposal process
- Present analyses and conclusions verbally and in written reports
- Participate in relevant industry events to expand knowledge and gain experience within the alternative asset industry
Essential Traits
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics or MBA
- Minimum 3 years of developing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts / forecasts, and contingent claims analysis
- Proficient in data analysis and business intelligence techniques
- Experience in managing diverse engagement teams and clients
- Familiarity with software packages like Alteryx, Tableau, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with market data sources such as Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on representing diverse communities
