About the role

Kroll’s Portfolio Valuation practice is the leading provider of valuation advisory services to the alternative investment industry. We serve a prestigious clientele of the world’s leading alternative asset managers, operating globally and specializing in valuing illiquid and hard-to-value investments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop financial models for discounted cash flow, market multiple, market transaction, and option pricing analyses
  • Conduct valuation analysis on a diverse range of illiquid investments distributed across industries and geographies, employing established and relevant approaches and theory
  • Manage teams of senior associates and analysts
  • Conduct client interviews, including face-to-face meetings, to gather essential data and information for engagements
  • Collaborate with internal and external management teams to cultivate and strengthen client relationships
  • Identify and communicate potential engagements to management and lead the engagement proposal process
  • Present analyses and conclusions verbally and in written reports
  • Participate in relevant industry events to expand knowledge and gain experience within the alternative asset industry

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or MBA
  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing and reviewing valuation models and other financial models including: DCF, comparable company, commodity contracts / forecasts, and contingent claims analysis
  • Proficient in data analysis and business intelligence techniques
  • Experience in managing diverse engagement teams and clients
  • Familiarity with authoritative guidance related to valuation (AICPA Guide, ASC 820 and IFRS 13), valuation industry best practices, and emerging issues
  • Familiarity with software packages like Alteryx, Tableau, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with market data sources such as Bloomberg and S&P Capital IQ
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on representing diverse communities
