The Opportunity

This role has a broad and varied scope and the successful candidate will have responsibility for duties including:

  • Portfolio Strategy: Define the long-term vision, strategic roadmap, and financial growth targets for the OTC product portfolio (e.g., Dental, Hip & Joint, Shampoos & Conditioners (Derm), Supplements etc.)
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee new product launches, brand positioning, and the phase-out of legacy products to maintain a high-performing, competitive portfolio.
  • Financial & P&L Management: Manage overall portfolio profitability, including forecasting net sales, managing operating expense budgets, and optimizing brand resources and overall profitability.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor industry trends, competitor movements, and shifting consumer behaviors (e.g., e-commerce, modern trade) to identify white-space opportunities for innovation or acquisitions.
  • Channel Strategy: Collaborate with commercial and sales enablement teams (retail, distribution, corporate accounts) to optimize distribution and execute targeted campaigns for both companion and production animal segments.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Marketing, Retail, Distribution, Sales, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Manufacturing, etc. to ensure a continuous pipeline and compliant, uninterrupted product supply.
  • Innovation: Partner with Business Development and Research and Development to identify new innovation opportunities to build our OTC portfolio.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or life sciences required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.

Experience: At least 12 years of progressive product marketing, category management, or commercial leadership experience, with a minimum of 6 years specifically within the Animal Health industry.

Industry Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the US and global OTC regulatory landscape, retail channel dynamics, and veterinary practice trends.

Analytical Acumen: Proven track record of leveraging data science and market analytics to inform pricing, ROAS (Return on Ad Spend) curves, and strategic investments.

Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and align matrixed, multi-disciplinary teams toward unified corporate objectives.
