Vice President Operations – Healthcare Services
The Opportunity
This role is with a large, multi-site healthcare services organization undergoing continued growth and operational evolution. The business delivers care across a diverse set of service lines and operates within a complex, physician-centric environment, balancing both fee-for-service and value-based care models.
Role Overview
The Vice President of Operations will lead operations across a broad portfolio of clinical services, partnering closely with physician leadership, functional executives, and frontline teams to improve access, efficiency, financial performance, and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership & Performance
- Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple service lines within a large, multi-site healthcare platform
- Drive performance across key metrics including access, throughput, patient experience, and financial outcomes
- Establish and maintain operating rhythms, reporting structures, and accountability frameworks
- P&L Ownership & Financial Management
- Hold full accountability for a $150M+ P&L, including revenue growth, cost management, and margin improvement
- Partner with finance to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance improvement plans
- Identify and execute opportunities to improve efficiency and optimize resource allocation
- Physician & Clinical Partnership
- Collaborate closely with physician leaders to align operational priorities with clinical objectives
- Support service line growth, provider engagement, and practice optimization initiatives
- Build trust and credibility across clinical and administrative stakeholders
- Strategic Execution & Transformation
- Lead key enterprise initiatives, including service line expansion, operational redesign, and performance improvement efforts
- Translate strategic priorities into executable plans with clear milestones and outcomes
- Drive change management across a distributed organization with diverse stakeholders
- Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and develop a team of operational leaders, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Build organizational capabilities to support scale, including talent development and succession planning
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations, ideally within multi-site provider organizations
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale operations with significant P&L responsibility
- Strong track record of driving operational performance and leading complex initiatives
- Experience working closely with physicians and clinical leadership in ambulatory or outpatient environments
- Familiarity with both fee-for-service and value-based care models
- Proven ability to lead through influence in matrixed, fast-paced organizations
