About the role
Design the clinical model for a new Florida company, then lead it. Nearly 100 senior primary care centers are already open. After January 1, nearly 100 senior primary care centers across Florida become one independent company, funded by a global healthcare investor with twenty years in value based care. The centers are open today. The panels are full, the Medicare Advantage contracts are in place, and the care teams are working. The physician leadership team is being hired this fall, ahead of the launch, so the physicians in these seats set the clinical standards the company opens with.
Responsibilities
- Set the clinical standards: define care pathways, utilization criteria, and physician coaching processes, working directly with the Chief Medical Officer.
- Partner with an operating leader at the same level who handles staffing, budgets, and facilities while you run the medicine.
- Spend time with physicians and advanced practice providers, performance data, and hospital and specialist partners.
- Monitor quality, referrals, admissions, and documentation by center and clinician, and act on the data.
- Aim for a strong first year: reduce hospital days for seniors, increase specialty care to high‑value, fair‑cost providers, improve HCC documentation, and support provider growth and retention.
- Market level (Tampa): serve as senior physician executive for ~20 centers, report to the CMO, own clinical strategy, medical cost performance, utilization management, build clinical partnerships with hospitals, specialists, and skilled nursing facilities (including specialty capitation), and lead/develop district physician leaders.
- District level: lead physicians and advanced practice providers across a group of centers, coach from performance data, conduct peer‑to‑peer reviews, teach accurate HCC documentation at point of care, and direct referrals to high‑value specialists.
Requirements
- MD or DO with an unrestricted license and board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Geriatrics.
- Experience in Medicare Advantage, capitated, or other risk‑bearing primary care models.
- District level: five or more years in practice.
- Market level: ten or more years in practice, with at least five years in physician leadership.
Pay
- Executive base salary plus an annual performance bonus.
