About the role

As the Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller at Hunter Truck, you will lead the accounting organization while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership. You will oversee financial reporting, accounting operations, and process improvement initiatives that support our continued growth, ensuring financial integrity while building scalable systems and developing high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the accounting organization, including financial reporting, accounting operations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable across multiple locations
  • Coach, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive strategic financial planning, budgeting, and operational decision-making
  • Oversee monthly and year-end close processes while ensuring accurate, timely financial reporting and GAAP compliance
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and maintain compliance with applicable accounting regulations
  • Improve working capital performance through effective oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation initiatives, and financial system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and financial performance metrics that provide actionable business insights
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and other strategic growth initiatives
  • Build strong partnerships with operational leaders to strengthen financial performance across the organization
  • Maintain a professional appearance while promoting Hunter Truck's health and safety culture

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred. Minimum of 15 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including a combination of public accounting and Controller or Corporate Controller experience.
  • Travel Requirements: Occasional travel, including overnight travel, to branch locations as business needs require.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred. Valid Driver's License required; must meet company insurability standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Frequently standing and sitting; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment.
