About the role

As the Vice President of Mid-Ticket Credit and Specialty Programs, you will be a member of the PEAC Risk Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer. You will provide executive oversight of Credit, managing and underwriting new business applications accurately and efficiently for middle ticket equipment and commercial loan and lease applications up to $25,000,000. This role involves managing and underwriting all Mid-Ticket exposures, assisting Sales and Operations in closing transactions with non-standard requirements, and ensuring an organized, timely, and responsive Mid-Ticket transaction management process.

The Credit Leader will oversee credit risk evaluation on new loan and lease applications with a ticket size ranging from $500,000 to $25,000,000 across a wide variety of industries, markets, and equipment types. You will work independently and within a team environment, mentoring and co-approving Flow Team Credit transactions on exposures under $250,000.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate credit risk on new equipment loan and lease applications with mid-ticket and large ticket transactions ranging from $500,000 to $25,000,000 across a wide variety of industries.
  • Manage Credit Specialty Finance products underwriting in CT & I vertical for Inventory, Wholesale & Rental financing, including program documentation and monitoring procedures for credit exposures exceeding $25,000,000.
  • Develop and implement Risk Acceptable Criteria for credit underwriting guidelines for CT & I, Inventory, Wholesale & Rental financing, and all commercial finance sales verticals.
  • Responsible for developing and executing credit strategy to optimize profitability and credit loss performance.
  • Provide thought leadership in developing conceptually sound and practically feasible underwriting strategies for PEAC’s digital and offline channels.
  • Assure the Middle Ticket credit team delivers on all SLAs relating to turnaround time and other key service metrics.
  • Serve as a voting member of the Credit Committee.
  • Read and review commercial credit reports, customer due diligence reports, and prepare the credit approval summary (CAS) forms, including financial analysis.
  • Assist in the credit decision queue for Flow Underwriting Queue during surge periods to ensure activity remains fluent.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects related to business development.
  • Utilize Moody’s, Standard & Poor’s, Dun & Bradstreet, and related commercial bureau reports to evaluate the borrower’s creditworthiness.
  • Review, spread, and analyze business financial statements and tax returns.
  • Utilize national credit bureaus to evaluate the personal guarantor’s creditworthiness.
  • Review and analyze personal financial statements and tax returns.
  • Ensure transactions are underwritten according to Credit policy standards.
  • Co-approval with Dealer Management on Advance Funding or Pre-Delivery requests exceeding $500,000.
  • Recommend procedure and policy changes based on portfolio and economic trends.
  • Underwrite and qualify new franchisors and vendors.
  • Comply with Credit audit procedural requirements.
  • Clearly communicate credit decisions in a concise manner, verbally and written, to internal departments, specifically Sales and Credit.
  • Prepare and present credit approval summaries to members of the Credit Committee and Senior Management.
  • Report on key performance indicators and channel performance to PEAC’s Senior Leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • 15+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience in Small & Middle ticket transactions, with previous experience in Equipment Leasing, CT & I, and Specialty Finance products including Inventory, Rental, and Wholesale finance.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis.
  • Excellent computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
