Vice President of Business Operations
Position Summary
The Vice President of Business Operations is a senior leader responsible for accelerating revenue and expanding the reach of KDC’s ancillary businesses. This role is highly strategic and execution-focused, owning the end-to-end growth lifecycle - from identifying opportunities and developing multi-year growth strategies to deploying those strategies through internal teams and ensuring measurable results.
Growth Strategy & Planning
- Develop and own comprehensive growth plans for each business, including revenue targets, market penetration goals, and expansion initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate new growth opportunities, including: New service offerings, Cross-selling and bundling strategies, Operational leverage within the parent company ecosystem.
- Translate high-level strategy into clear, executable initiatives with defined owners, milestones, and success metrics.
Internal Selling & Deployment
- Lead internal commercialization efforts by partnering closely with: Legal and client-facing teams, Leadership across the parent company, Ancillary business stakeholders.
- Design and execute internal enablement strategies to ensure teams understand: The value proposition of each ancillary service, When and how to position services to clients, How growth initiatives align with client outcomes.
Execution & Performance Management
- Own execution of growth initiatives from concept through launch and scale.
- Establish KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to track performance against growth targets.
- Use data and insights to continuously refine strategies, reallocate resources, and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
- Hold teams accountable for delivery while removing barriers to execution.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the COO and executive leadership team on growth-related decisions.
- Lead cross-functional working groups that bring together operations, finance, marketing, and client service teams to execute growth initiatives.
- Build a culture of accountability, experimentation, and results-oriented execution.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8–10+ years in senior leadership roles with demonstrated success driving growth, scaling services, or launching new business lines—preferably in professional services, legal services, or related industries. Proven experience turning strategy into execution with measurable results.
- Skills & Competencies: Exceptional strategic thinking paired with strong operational execution discipline, Ability to influence and lead through collaboration and persuasion, Strong commercial mindset with comfort discussing revenue, targets, and performance metrics, Ability to identify opportunities, assess risk, and move decisively, Skilled at managing multiple initiatives across varying timelines and priorities.
- Leadership Characteristics: Entrepreneurial, proactive, and results oriented, Comfortable with ambiguity and building structure where none exists, High integrity, accountability, and ownership mindset, Passionate about growth, value creation, and organizational impact.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree preferred.
Travel Requirements
Periodic travel required to Firm offices and ancillary business locations as necessary.
Physical Requirements
Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions. Stationary Position – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time. Move or Traverse – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc. May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria and parking area. Dexterity – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer. Move, Transport, Position, Put, Install, Remove - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs. Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Detect, Determine, Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate, Assess - The ability to observe details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
