About the role

We are seeking an outstanding marketing leader to own the entire marketing function, including brand, growth, lifecycle, measurement, and Martech infrastructure. Reporting to the President with a seat at the leadership table, you will have complete control over how marketing is run, with clear expectations on outcomes and regular, direct conversations about performance. This role involves managing a significant marketing budget and demonstrating efficient spending to unlock further investment. The marketing team is primarily based in New York, and while the role can be in-office or fully remote, regular travel will be required if remote.

Responsibilities

  • Own the brand funnel and creative strategy for campaigns targeting everyday and retirement savers, primarily aged 45+, across linear TV, connected TV, streaming, social, billboards, and experiential.
  • Manage performance and growth through paid search, display, direct response, and affiliate channels, ensuring accountability for acquisition cost and volume.
  • Oversee measurement, including the Haus relationship, test design, and translating measurement into planning inputs.
  • Lead Martech strategy, evaluating current tools, deciding what to enhance or replace, and partnering with engineering for implementation.
  • Assess, develop, and lead a talented marketing team, ensuring the right people are in the right roles to drive success.
  • Partner with product and design teams to align roadmaps and maintain consistent brand voice and design language.
  • Activate and evaluate sponsorship assets, including the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, and work with the corporate sponsorships team to pursue new opportunities.
  • Decide on agency partnerships and hold them accountable for performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree with a concentration in Marketing is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience leading marketing, with meaningful time spent in a direct-to-consumer financial services company.
  • Fluency in marketing mix modeling (MMM), incrementality testing, and geo-lift design, with the ability to discuss their limitations.
  • Experience with products requiring regulatory review of marketing materials.
  • Proven experience managing an eight-figure budget across brand and performance, with a track record of allocating, measuring, and optimizing spend.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to build and sustain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience marketing to a 40+ demographic.
  • Experience activating major sponsorships and measuring their impact.
  • A strong point of view on AI in marketing operations, with evidence of its practical application.

Pay

The base pay for this position ranges from $250,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year plus bonus in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
