About the role

The Vice President of Marketing & Communications will lead Empath Health's marketing, communications, digital, and brand strategy to drive revenue growth, referral volume, and market expansion. This role will partner with P&L leaders, Business Development, and executive leadership to align marketing initiatives with census growth, service line priorities, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Empath Health’s systemwide marketing, communications, digital, and brand strategy to drive revenue growth, referral volume, and market expansion.
  • Partner with P&L leaders, Business Development, and executive leadership to align marketing initiatives with census growth, service line priorities, and operational performance.
  • Oversee multi-channel campaigns, digital engagement, and brand management to strengthen visibility across all Empath service lines and markets.
  • Direct internal and external communications, including media relations, crisis response, executive messaging, and colleague engagement.
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of 12+ marketing, communications, digital, and creative professionals.
  • Use data, analytics, and market insights to optimize marketing investments and demonstrate ROI tied to growth objectives.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field (master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in marketing, communications, or brand strategy, ideally within healthcare or a large nonprofit system.
  • Demonstrated success leading integrated digital marketing, brand management, and multi-site or matrixed organizational strategies.
  • Proven ability to align marketing initiatives with revenue growth, referral development, and operational performance.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, physicians, boards, and community partners.
  • A robust portfolio showcasing strategic campaigns, digital work, brand leadership, and measurable business impact.
