Vice President (M&A Latin America)

About the role
Under direction of Client Group Head, identify and execute M&A mandates across low carbon transition-related sectors in Latin America, including but not limited to renewable power generation & transmission / distribution, circular economy, industrial decarbonization, water and waste management. Remote work permitted up to 1 day per week. Up to 20% travel to Latin America, often on short notice.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate potential upcoming transactions with cross-border angle and develop pitch books to transform these business opportunities into M&A mandates.
- Provide Latin America-specific industry & market intelligence and competitive analysis.
- Manage multiple assignments and M&A transactions in parallel, coordinate deals with all parties involved in the transactions, manage and mentor junior staff.
- Lead preparation of marketing materials and presentations to top management & boards of directors.
- Perform advanced financial analysis & valuation as well as long-term value creation analyses for clients based on their sustainability transition strategy and objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and five (5) years of experience working in bulge bracket investment banking or financial advisory within an international bank or international advisory organization OR Master's degree (US or Foreign Equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field and three (3) years of experience working in bulge bracket investment banking or financial advisory within an international bank or international advisory organization.
Qualifications
- Identifying and executing M&A transactions across low carbon transition-related sectors, including but not limited to renewable power generation & transmission / distribution, circular economy, industrial decarbonization, or water and waste management.
- Understanding sectors and clients’ strategy and forecasting potential upcoming transactions with cross-border angle, and developing pitch books to transform these business opportunities into M&A mandates.
- Leveraging in-depth knowledge of Latin America macroeconomic, regulatory and political contexts to source and execute M&A transactions in the region, including cross-border transactions.
- Managing M&A projects in autonomy from pitch to closing, including client management, day-to-day management and mentoring of junior staff, presentations to top management and boards of directors, and development of timelines and ensuring they are being met.
- Applying understanding of corporate finance theory in emerging markets and using MS Office Word, Excel, and Power Point to perform, organize and present qualitative and quantitative analyses.
- Building business plans and run long-term value creation analyses for clients based on their sustainability transition strategy and objectives.
Pay
$179,088.00 USD - $260,000.00 USD / year. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business line, and geographic/office location.
