Vice President, Lead Software Engineer

About the role

Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end software solutions to business processes.
• Work closely with business users and product owners on application level strategic initiatives, perform feasibility analysis and gather business requirements.
• Design system architecture, convert business requirements to functional deliverables and implement technical solutions.
• Drive agile development practices and standards.
• Provide support for production systems and resolve issues raised by application users.

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
• Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Computer Programmer, Software Developer, or related occupation in the technology field.
• Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in any field with seven (7) years of experience.
• Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:
• Domain knowledge of Capital Markets including Fixed Income or Equities;
• Fundamentals of Electronic Trading including ECN/ATS;
• Front office exposure including driving the agenda with senior traders;
• Object Oriented programming including Java or Scala;
• Spring framework;
• Reactive programming concepts;
• Messaging technologies;
• Databases including Sybase or DB2;
• Behavior Driven Development or Test Driven Development including Cucumber or Concordion;
• DevOps tools including JIRA;
• Git/BitBucket;
• Bamboo/Jenkins.

Qualifications

• Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.

Benefits

• Base pay rate expected to be between $260,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
• Total compensation package may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

• Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $260,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
