About the role
Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York, New York.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end software solutions to business processes.
- Work closely with business users and product owners on application level strategic initiatives, perform feasibility analysis and gather business requirements.
- Design system architecture, convert business requirements to functional deliverables and implement technical solutions.
- Drive agile development practices and standards.
- Provide support for production systems and resolve issues raised by application users.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
- Requires five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Computer Programmer, Software Developer, or related occupation in the technology field.
- Employer will accept Bachelor’s degree in any field with seven (7) years of experience.
- Requires five (5) years of experience with the following skills:
- Domain knowledge of Capital Markets including Fixed Income or Equities;
- Fundamentals of Electronic Trading including ECN/ATS;
- Front office exposure including driving the agenda with senior traders;
- Object Oriented programming including Java or Scala;
- Spring framework;
- Reactive programming concepts;
- Messaging technologies;
- Databases including Sybase or DB2;
- Behavior Driven Development or Test Driven Development including Cucumber or Concordion;
- DevOps tools including JIRA;
- Git/BitBucket;
- Bamboo/Jenkins.
Qualifications
- Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
Benefits
- Base pay rate expected to be between $260,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
- Total compensation package may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

- Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $260,000 and $260,000 per year at the commencement of employment.

- Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
