Vice President, Innovation
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Vice President, Innovation to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space. This senior leader will shape the company's innovation agenda across a diversified industrial portfolio, translating emerging technologies and new product concepts into sustainable growth. The role will partner closely with business leaders, technical teams, and external research and technology organizations to identify, prioritize, and scale high-impact opportunities. A strong focus on portfolio discipline, experimentation, and enterprise-level governance will help ensure innovation investments deliver measurable business value.
Location
Chicago, IL — US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available.
Compensation
$200,000 – $300,000 annually.
Responsibilities
- Drive sustainable growth through new product development and technology adoption
- Identify and prioritize innovation initiatives across the organization's portfolio
- Establish best practices for innovation processes and portfolio management
- Build strategic relationships with universities and technology providers
- Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement
- Develop innovation training programs for leaders and technical professionals
- Track innovation investments and lead enterprise-level reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, or a related field; Master's or Doctoral degree preferred
- MBA or equivalent business education strongly desired
- 15+ years of leadership experience in innovation, engineering, or related fields
- Proven success leading innovation across multiple business units and industries
- Experience in industrial manufacturing or related sectors
- Strong financial and analytical capabilities
- P&L management experience preferred
