About the role

The Vice President Human Resources is responsible for the implementation and management of the human resources division, including talent acquisition, employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, and organizational learning & development.

Responsibilities

- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate all aspects of services delivered. - Ensure engagement, culture of safety, and a level of customer service that exceeds internal and external customer expectations. - Develop strong relationships with primary customers. - Practice excellent employee relations and attention to employee needs. - Develop and mentor a high-performing management team for all areas of responsibility. - Ensure financial viability by managing expenses with attention to supply cost utilization and productivity in cost centers under direct control. - Build and nurture solid relationships with organization’s leaders by demonstrating an understanding of business strategies and challenges and identifying opportunities for leveraging human resources strategies. - Cultivate effective relationships within the organization to influence and impact the culture and employee engagement, driving a district-wide culture transformation. - Provide expertise and advice to employee coaching, counseling, and disciplinary processes as requested by executive team members. - Ensure managers are trained in and informed of human resources policies and procedures, pertinent labor laws, and practices, and Union contract interpretation. - Experience with HR transformation, including process improvement and implementing an innovative HR service delivery model.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development, or related field required. - Master's degree preferred. - 8 - 10 years of progressive experience in human resources, ideally in a multi-site, complex, integrated health care system in a competitive marketplace, with a minimum of 5 years in an HR management role. - Experience working in a union environment, preferred with CA union experience. - Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Certified Health Care Recruiter (CHCR) certification preferred. - Valid Driver's License required.
