The Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) plays a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and driving the continued growth of The Oncology Institute (NASDAQ: TOI). Founded in 2007, TOI is dedicated to advancing oncology by providing specialized, value-based cancer care in the community setting. With over 180 employed and affiliate clinicians and over 100 clinics and affiliate locations, TOI aims to change oncology for the better.

Job Purpose and Summary

As a strategic finance leader, the VP, FP&A will shape decisions that enhance the accessibility and efficiency of cancer care. This role requires close collaboration with senior leaders across Finance, Business Development, Operations, and Clinical Services to guide data-driven decisions, strengthen financial performance, and improve processes that support TOI’s expanding footprint.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive annual budget and quarterly forecast processes using Excel-based models, working closely with finance leaders.
  • Manage and mentor analysts, managers, and directors, ensuring they adhere to best practices and are accountable for their work.
  • Lead monthly variance analyses, preparing detailed packages for leadership review, and participate in monthly financial review meetings with P&L owners.
  • Evaluate the economic implications of strategic initiatives for various areas, prepare analyses and reports, and oversee the implementation or customization of tracking formats.
  • Optimize data infrastructure and software platforms within FP&A, ensuring efficient and scalable processes.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports and analyses for executives and investors, supporting investor relations and M&A activities.
  • Regularly review FP&A team processes to identify areas for improvement and automation.
  • Exemplify TOI’s core values, providing excellent customer service and fostering a positive environment for both patients and staff.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience in a leadership role overseeing a team is preferred.
  • Experience in M&A and transactional execution and diligence (buy- or sell-side) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, capable of translating complex data into clear insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across clinical, operational, and corporate functions to align financial goals with organizational strategy.

Required Experience, Education, and/or Training

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in FP&A or related roles required.

Pay, Benefits, and Schedule

The estimated salary range for this position is $230,000 - $280,000 USD annually. The actual salary may vary based on factors such as specific skills, years of experience, and comparisons to other employees in the role.
