Vice President, Finance
Position Purpose
The strategic Finance Leader for News Corp. Global Technology & Corporate HQ will lead the financial management of the Global Technology organization, Headquarters (HQ), and the Company’s Other Segment. You will lead all end-to-end commercial finance activities, including global budgeting and forecasting, and be responsible for designing and optimizing scalable global chargeback and cost allocation frameworks. As a trusted advisor, you will provide HQ senior leadership with actionable, data-driven insights on global headcount, operating spend, and investment priorities. A key mandate is driving finance transformation and digital modernization, leveraging automated systems to streamline financial processes, build scalable infrastructure, and enhance executive reporting capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Finance Leadership – News Corp Global Technology
Direct Finance for Global Technology: Act as the primary financial authority for the Global Technology organization at News Corp.
Strategic Collaboration: Coordinate with the Global CTO and senior tech leaders to develop strategic plans, maximize technology spending efficiency, and ensure financial goals match corporate objectives.
AI Oversight and Innovation: Participate as a central member of the established AI Board to assess and disseminate AI-related insights throughout the organization.
Fiscal Tracking and Cost Distribution: Provide clear visibility into tech-related expenditures, staffing levels, and third-party investments for senior management and business unit finance teams through a structured allocation methodology.Finance Leadership – News Corp Headquarters and Other Segment
Headquarters Finance Direction: Act as the lead financial authority for News Corp HQ and the other segment, delivering precise financial analysis to define performance narratives while collaborating with corporate controllership and FP&A on reporting.
Executive Advisory: Serve as the lead finance partner for Company EVPs and senior management, facilitating strategic financial planning and providing transparent and proactive reporting.Finance Simplification & Digital Fluency
Optimizing Global Allocations & Chargebacks: Establish scalable, automated cost-allocation and chargeback frameworks to replace manual spreadsheet-based systems and ensure compliance.
Modernizing Financial Systems & Workflows: Assess and upgrade reporting structures and financial systems for HQ and regional branches, prioritizing automation in BI reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Advancing Data Transparency & Executive Reporting: Create interactive, self-service reporting platforms and dashboards to offer business leaders and EVPs comprehensive insights into financial performance, global costs, and operational data.
Simplifying Methods & Educating Stakeholders: Enhance the clarity of financial reporting and corporate cost allocation strategies for leadership and global business units.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA, CPA, CMA, or CIMA qualification is highly preferred.
Experience: 8-10+ years of finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a FP&A or a mini CFO /finance business partner role within a multinational organization.
Global Entity Expertise: Proven experience managing financials across multiple international legal entities.
Chargeback Models: Demonstrated experience designing and executing complex corporate chargeback, cost-allocation, or transfer pricing models.
Digital Fluency: Strong track record of driving finance automation, implementing FP&A software and utilizing BI tools.
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a track record of successfully partnering with, influencing, and challenging C-suite and EVP-level executives.
Systems Literacy: Advanced proficiency in financial consolidation tools (e.g.OneStream, Hyperion), ERP systems (e.g.SAP), and advanced Excel.
