Vice President, Digital Asset Operations

About the role

This role provides senior operational leadership for institutional digital asset custody and transaction processing within a broader Digital Asset Operations function that spans multiple products and platforms. The Vice President is accountable for execution excellence, risk management, team oversight, and continuous improvement in a highly regulated and rapidly evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for digital asset custody and tokenization activities, ensuring accurate, timely, and resilient processing for institutional clients.
• Own end-to-end operational workflows across custody, settlement, reconciliations, and exception management, with clear accountability for outcomes and controls.
• Lead and develop a team of Associates and Senior Associates, including coaching, performance management, and building bench strength and subject matter expertise.
• Oversee incident management, including response to blockchain or platform events, execution of escalation protocols, and coordination of post-incident reviews and remediation.
• Drive operational excellence by identifying risks, inefficiencies, and control gaps, and partnering with Technology, Risk & Control, Compliance, and Product teams to implement sustainable solutions.
• Act as a senior point of contact for complex client, audit, regulatory, and risk-related inquiries, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution.
• Support business continuity and coverage needs, including participation in a follow-the-sun operating model with flexibility for non-standard hours (occasional evenings and weekends).
• Demonstrate accountability for operational performance, risk outcomes, and team effectiveness.
• Lead people, processes, and controls, not just task execution.
• Own complex issues, incidents, and strategic initiatives.
• Shape operating models, controls, and future-state capabilities for digital asset custody.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5-8 years of experience in financial services operations, custody, settlements, or digital assets, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
• Strong understanding of operational risk management, controls, reconciliations, and regulated financial services environments.
• Solid working knowledge of digital assets, blockchain technology, tokenization, and cryptocurrency markets.
• Proven ability to lead teams, set priorities, and drive execution in a fast-paced, high-risk environment.
• Experience partnering cross-functionally with Technology, Product, Compliance, and Risk stakeholders.
• Strong judgment, decision-making, and escalation skills, particularly during incidents or time-sensitive events.
• Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to represent operations to senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to support flexible scheduling and provide leadership coverage outside of standard business hours when required.

Pay

The base salary for this position is expected to range between $69,000 and $160,000 per year at the commencement of employment, determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location. This is part of a total compensation package that may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short- and long-term incentive packages, and company-sponsored benefit programs. The position is at-will, and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (or other compensation) at any time for reasons related to individual performance, geographic location, company or department performance, and market factors.
