Job Overview The VP of Credit, will lead the underwriting, structuring, and risk management of credit-related transactions of the Company, including asset-based wholesale facilities, forward flows and other private equity and private credit-related transactions. This role involves overseeing and managing teams of credit professionals and direct responsibility for evaluating potential transactions and managing the credit risk of the Company’s portfolio. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual interested in operating independently and taking ownership of deals, supervising a high-performing team of credit professionals, and developing a managerial level skillset in the private credit industry. [JG1] [LR2] Job Requirements Lead the credit analysis and due diligence on borrowers for potential transactions, including assessing financial statements, cash flows, business models and the capital structures of target companies, leveraging a team of high-performing credit professionals. Guide the development of cash flow and financial models used to evaluate credit risk and potential returns on new and existing investments resulting in a flexible model used to structure the transaction and achieve appropriate risk and returns. Lead the development of key deal terms, such as advance rates, eligibility criteria, portfolio concentrations, collateral performance covenants, financial covenants, to mitigate risks associated with each borrower and transaction. Present detailed credit memos and other deliverables summarizing findings and recommendations for senior management, relevant committees, and investors. Design and execute stress testing frameworks, determine break points, and monitor and communicate results to senior leadership and relevant committees. Prepare responses to ad-hoc deliverables for internal and external parties leveraging portfolio knowledge with a systematic approach to responses. Manage and develop a team of analysts and associates, establishing timelines, channels of communication, providing feedback and assessing overall performance. Stay informed about market conditions, industry trends, and legal developments that may impact the Company’s portfolio and borrowers. Required Experience & Skills 5-8 years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, securitizations and/or a related financial services role. Advanced level understanding of financial analysis and credit underwriting, with the ability to assess company financials (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow). Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling, including building and maintaining complex models to evaluate investment performance and risk. Fluent in credit agreements, loan covenants, and other documentation related to credit transactions. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information in a clear and concise manner. Strong attention to detail, project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage both up and down the organization to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders including legal counsel, investors and counterparties. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial databases or software is a plus. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field. Proven ability to lead and manage complex credit deals throughout deal lifecycle. Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
