About the Role

Has oversight and responsibility for system-wide clinical shared services including Nursing Operations (Workforce Management, WellStaff, Pastoral Services, Care Management, and Nursing Administrative Support) and Food and Nutritional Services. Partners with operational leaders to improve overall system services and related systems-level outcomes consistent with organizational goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates alignment and achievement of system nursing, support, and ancillary services consistent with the organization’s goals and objectives while directing the day-to-day execution of strategies and tactics to improve outcomes and results.
  • Drives integration and “systemness” related to system clinical operations.
  • Provides oversight and strategy for Clinical Operations, including workforce management, clinical innovation, and operational effectiveness.
  • Oversees operational performance data gathering and dissemination.
  • Oversees and develops the agenda for the Operations Leadership Group (OLG).
  • Leads special projects as assigned.
  • Establishes performance goals, allocates resources, and assesses policies for direct and indirect reports.
  • Provides orientation, training, and continuing education for employees in areas of responsibility.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to stay current with industry trends.
  • Creates a culture resulting in a highly engaged workforce.
  • Delivers outstanding service to all customers, fosters teamwork, and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a clinical discipline required.
  • Master’s Degree in business management, health care management, or finance strongly preferred.
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience in healthcare operations with progressive management responsibilities in a large and complex health system.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of system process analysis, quality/process improvement techniques, design, and integration across multiple departments.
  • Analytical ability to problem-solve, evaluate, plan, and direct process improvement projects and benchmarking activities for clinical and non-clinical departments.
  • Ability to compile, code, categorize, or verify information/data.
  • Ability to determine the appropriate course of action in complex situations.
