Vice President, Business Development - Medical Collections
The Opportunity
We are seeking a results-driven and relationship-focused business development professional specializing in identifying, securing, and expanding first- and third-party collection opportunities within the healthcare and medical services industry.
Skilled at navigating the unique compliance, regulatory, and patient-sensitivity requirements of medical collections, this individual leverages deep industry knowledge to create tailored recovery solutions that balance maximizing receivables with preserving patient relationships.
Core Competencies
- Research and targets hospitals, physician groups, specialty clinics, and medical billing companies to identify collection outsourcing opportunities.
- Crafts value propositions for both first-party (early-stage) and third-party (late-stage) collection services, highlighting compliance, patient experience, and recovery performance.
- Builds trust with CFOs, revenue cycle managers, and compliance officers through consultative engagement and transparent communication.
- Understands HIPAA, FDCPA, and state-specific medical debt collection laws to ensure ethical and compliant business practices.
- Collaborates with internal operations, compliance, and technology teams to deliver customized collection programs that align with client goals.
The Vice President, Business Development – Medical Collections
Bridges the gap between healthcare providers’ need for efficient revenue recovery and patients’ need for respectful, compliant engagement. Combines industry insight with a solutions-oriented approach to drive sustainable growth for collection agencies and measurable financial improvement for medical clients.
The Responsibilities & Duties
Engage targeted accounts to identify new markets/opportunities within the healthcare and medical services industry with a focus on medical collections.
Map out a business plan with goals, key actions, targets, and measures of success, including its complementing resources and tools needed by the unit/department to meet and exceed the organizational objectives.
Direct the smooth implementation of well-defined end-to-end business development plans based on the current or new transformational needs and requirements approved and supported by leadership and our clients.
Coordinate with the Bid/Proposal team to generate presentations and proposals for client delivery.
Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with our new clients to ensure we deliver committed results.
Uphold and promote our Teleperformance core values, norms, standard operating policies, and procedures.
Utilize and manage the TP CRM system – Salesforce.
This will be an Individual Contributor role.
First-Year Key Objectives:
Design a business development strategy to engage the identified target list based on assigned accounts.
Qualify 12 opportunities per year.
Build confidence and trust with new and current accounts through close partnerships and outstanding delivery.
Engage with customers in a consultative way by understanding their value proposition and designing solutions that enable improved business outcomes.
Optimize internal relationships with Sales Support and Client Services.
The Qualifications
- Passion to sell into and relationships in the healthcare and medical services industry!
- A bachelor’s degree or above is preferred.
- 8-plus years of successful enterprise sales experience selling into the healthcare and medical services industry - experience/familiarity with medical collections is needed.
- Good understanding of CX-related digital technologies, digital transformation a plus.
- Strong negotiation and business management skills.
- Analytical thinking, proactive attitude, strong written and oral communication skills.
- Must have extensive experience selling and presenting to the highest-level decision-makers (C-level Executives).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork mindset.
- Must be highly detail-oriented with the ability to be productive and accountable, and work under tight deadlines when needed.
