Job Duties

  • Support the President with continuous review, revision, implementation, development and monitoring of operational goals and objectives
  • Provide leadership and vision in planning, budgeting, staffing, and policy development
  • Provide leadership for training and motivation of assigned staff to utilize individual capabilities and meet college growth and demands
  • Provide supervision to all departments of the College
  • Serve as the officer responsible for Affirmative Action, recruitment and retention planning for faculty and staff
  • Oversee compliance of TBR, state, federal, and accrediting agency policies and regulations
  • Conduct annual faculty and staff evaluations
  • Oversee development and delivery of orientation programs for new faculty and staff
  • Prepare, communicate, and report on strategic plans/initiatives
  • Prepare and evaluate risk assessment for the College
  • Oversee safety and security policies and protocols of the College
  • Oversee curriculum development and review
  • Assist President with master planning
  • Assist President with grant proposals and awards
  • Assist in reporting the state of the institution to the Institutional Advisory Board
  • Develop and disseminate professional development programs for faculty and staff
  • Provide oversight of departmental budget preparation and monitoring
  • Supervise and support facilities/maintenance staff and oversee physical facilities projects
  • Supervise and support Coordinators of Nursing and Allied Health, Student Services, and Correctional Programs
  • Provide direct oversight of procurement, academic, and other contracts for the College
  • Provide oversight of annual records retention reporting
  • Assist Student Services Coordinator and/or President in disciplinary matters
  • Serve on committees and boards as requested
  • Serve as the Title VI and Title IX Coordinator responsible for compliance with federal regulations and investigation of complaints
  • Serve as the COE Liaison responsible for compliance with Council on Occupational Education (COE) accreditation requirements
  • Work after-hours for scheduled school events and travel to meetings (some overnight) as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Five (5) years' work experience in post-secondary career and technical education
  • Three (3) years' supervisory experience in a technical education setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years' experience in organizational management with administrative level experience in higher education
  • Experience with and knowledge of Council on Occupational Education accreditation requirements, Federal Student Aid programs, TN Promise, and TN Reconnect
  • Experience in procurement of equipment and contract bidding
  • Experience in facilities management
