Vice President, Accounting
About the role
The Vice President, Accounting will support financial oversight within the Finance/Accounting function for certain BNY legal entities. This role is responsible for legal entity accounting and reporting activities including financial close, BOD reporting and analytical review of balance sheet and income statement. This individual will also be responsible for the revenue analysis, including deferred revenue treatment, and accounting guidance related to potential client contract structures.
Responsibilities
- Support financial oversight within the Finance/Accounting function for certain BNY legal entities.
- Responsible for legal entity accounting and reporting activities including financial close, BOD reporting and analytical review of balance sheet and income statement.
- Responsible for the revenue analysis, including deferred revenue treatment, and accounting guidance related to potential client contract structures.
- Key participant in system migration projects, ensuring alignment with accounting, reporting, and control requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Typically 5–10 years of relevant experience.
- CPA preferred.
Qualifications
- Advanced Excel, familiarity for Power BI, Power Query, AI and other technologies.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Able to reimagine processes.
Skills
- Strong accounting and financial analysis experience.
- Sound judgment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business, internal/external audit and finance teams.
