Vibration Field Technician

Responsibilities

  • Collect vibration, ultrasonic, and IR data on machinery at various job sites (power plants, production manufacturing facilities, open pit mines, etc.).
  • Upload collected data.
  • Maintain and improve upon customer database as needed.
  • Work independently and efficiently without direct supervision after the training phase is complete.
  • Use common sense and best judgement for decision making.
  • Maintain communication with management and data analyst for changing on-site conditions or customer needs.
  • Generate reports on the latest monitored equipment in a timely manner.
  • Collect and update information on customer monitored assets to maintain accurate report records.
  • Collect oil samples in accordance with guidelines and drop off package for shipment to analysis laboratory.
  • Perform office-related tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Maintain high level of integrity and safety for all work performed; comply with all Company SAFETY rules (lockout/tagout, etc.).
  • Perform additional tasks as directed.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Must comply with all safety regulations.
  • On-site environment includes wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, working near moving mechanical parts and electricity, potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise level is usually moderate but can be loud in production areas.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds; maximum unassisted lift of 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, bend at waist, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
  • Use of lifts may be required.
  • Must be able to climb a minimum 30-foot ladder.
  • Occasionally work in confined spaces.

Requirements

  • 21 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Able to travel 3-4 days per week on average with overnight stays (some weeks without travel, some with more than 4 days).
  • Able to travel or work on weekends (not typical but possible).
  • No physical restrictions to perform essential duties; must understand work environment and physical demand conditions.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Able to pass MSHA Part 48 Surface New Miner Online Training Course (training provided).
  • Able to pass First Aid course (training provided).
  • Able to pass Vibration Analysis ISO Category I Course and Certification test (training provided).
  • Able to act and perform work in a professional manner; comply with all Company SAFETY rules.
  • Able to pass random drug testing and criminal background check.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
