This is a travel pilot position where you will travel to an assigned base. You will perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM), support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns. You will also participate in community outreach programs and work with both internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service. Some lifting will be required to assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
  • Support Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns.
  • Work with both internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
  • Participate in community outreach programs.
  • Adhere to PHI Air Medical policies.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment (some lifting required).

Requirements

  • Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings.
  • First Class Medical certification.
  • 2,000 total flight hours.
  • 1,500 hours in helicopters.
  • 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters.
  • 500 hours in Turbine helicopters.
  • 100 hours in unaided night operations OR 50 hours unaided and 100 hours Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
  • Must meet 235 pounds body weight requirement.
  • Must pass pre-placement physical exam, including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift 100 pounds), drug screening, and background screen.
  • Must live within 60 minutes of a major airport.
  • Must be able to travel to assigned base.
  • Annual flu vaccine not required.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills (internal and external).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interview and acceptance by customer/PHI management.

Schedule

  • 7 days on, 7 days off schedule; the day of the week the base changes schedules may vary, and schedule changes may be required.
  • 24-hour operations (day/night rotation).
