About the role
The Pet Emergency & Specialty Center of Marin is seeking a full-time board-certified or residency-trained Zoo Companion Animal Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Exclusive care for avian, reptile, small mammal, and other exotic species
- Serve through primary care service, referrals from local veterinarians, and coordination with the 24/7 Emergency Department
- Integrate with other departments including Surgery, Radiology, Ophthalmology, and Emergency to comprehensively serve patient needs
Requirements
- Board certification or completion of a residency program in Zoo Companion Animal Medicine
- Experience in treating avian, reptile, small mammal, and other exotic species
- Knowledge of zoo animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of California
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities

Pay
$175,000 - $200,000 USD base pay
Schedule
Full-time position, 8-hour shifts, rotating weekends and holidays
