About the role

Platt College Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our Veterinary Technology (VT) program as a Full-Time Instructor. This role is ideal for an RVT who is passionate about education, mentorship, and hands-on skills training, and who understands the time commitment required to support students in a rigorous professional program.

Responsibilities

- Maintain knowledge of the subject matter in the field(s) or appointment and deliver engaging, organized, and effective instruction aligned with course and program outcomes. - Prepare students for an entry-level position in their industry of choice; create learning experiences to make the subject matter meaningful to students. - Support adult learners in a fast-paced, professional training environment. - Work evenings and weekends as required during instructional and lab periods. - Provide academic support, feedback, and mentorship to students. - Collaborate with faculty and administration to ensure program quality and consistency. - Continuously relate relevancy of all classes within curriculum to current module being taught.

Requirements

- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Credentialed Veterinary Technician. - Current California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license in good standing. - Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology Program (Associate degree or higher). - Experience in training, mentoring, leadership, or supervision strongly preferred. - Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills. - Commitment to student success and professional standards.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology or related field. - Valid California RVT license. - Knowledge of veterinary technology principles and practices. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Pay

Compensation Range: $70,304 - $72,800/year

Schedule

Full-time, exempt faculty position with significant instructional, student support, and in-person lab responsibilities.
