Veterinary Technician Weekends Overnight/Swing Shift

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate weekend Swing shift (12pm-12am) / Overnight (7p-7A) Veterinary Technician to join the team at our successful hospital. You will work closely with the entire clinic staff to ensure the health and well-being of all of our pet patients.

Responsibilities

• Triage pets as they arrive at the clinic
• Work with emergency and hospitalized patients
• Anesthesia monitoring and assisting doctor with surgery
• Interview pet owners to obtain a patient history
• Take vital signs, acquire blood samples, place IV catheters
• Assist with surgeries and monitor animals after surgery
• Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients
• Keep accurate patient records
• Answer phones
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician, preferably in Emergency care
• Must be able to place IV catheters and draw blood
• Emergency care experience
• Anesthesia and surgery assisting experience
• Knowledge of animal care and handling
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a busy environment
• Patience and a love for animals
• Dependable and must work well with others

• Weekend Swing shift: 12pm–12am
• Weekend Overnight shift: 7pm–7am
