Veterinary Technician/VA – Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine
Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice offering a collaborative, multi-specialty environment with full in-house laboratory capabilities, fluoroscopy suite, GE 64-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, telemetric monitoring, ultrasound, and endoscopy. MVMC provides advanced care in Emergency & Critical Care, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, Radiology, and Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine.
About the role
As part of our team, you’ll work with the latest technology, gain access to state-of-the-art training facilities, and collaborate with a positive team to deliver high-quality rehabilitation care to pets. This role involves assisting in the implementation of rehabilitation therapy plans and working closely with veterinarians and specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of rehabilitation therapy plans including therapeutic exercises and modalities
- Operate and maintain rehabilitation equipment such as underwater treadmills and laser therapy devices
- Monitor patient progress and adjust support based on patient tolerance and response
- Provide hands-on support for mobility, strengthening, and recovery exercises
- Maintain detailed therapy notes and patient progress records
- Educate clients on at-home exercises and rehabilitation plans
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized rehabilitation environment
- Collaborate with veterinarians and rehabilitation specialists to optimize patient outcomes
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year previous experience in a veterinary or animal handling role
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude
- Able to multi-task
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Credentialed candidates (LVT, CVT, or RVT) are strongly desired
- Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRT) or Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) also desired

Pay
$26.00-$38.00 per hour based on experience and licensure
