Veterinary Technician – Surgery

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia administration, including drug calculations and protocols.
• Anesthetic monitoring and proficiency with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and restraint.
• Experience with CPR, ventilators, and specialty anesthesia (especially emergent procedures).
• Ability to read ECG, capnograph, and respond appropriately to non-rebreather circuits and blood pressure readings.
• Time management with an understanding of the importance of table times.
• Collaboration with the team; input is valued and encouraged.

Requirements

• Experience with common induction agents, anesthetic agents, and analgesia agents.
• Ability to calculate CRIs and perform medical math.
• Experience with ventilators and specialty anesthesia (emergent procedures specifically).
• Knowledge of ECG and capnograph interpretation, including appropriate responses.
• Understanding of when to use a non-rebreather circuit.
• Ability to react appropriately to blood pressure readings.
• Must be 18 years or older to apply.

A VTS (Anesthesia and Analgesia) is highly desirable (not required) and would receive additional compensation.

Pay

$24.00–$30.00/hour, dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Full-time: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday – 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Holidays are required.
