Veterinary Technician - Relief

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Renton is hiring a Relief Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our ER department in Tukwila, WA. LVT Pay Scale: $26.75 - $51.32 / hour. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like Jugular catheters, Central Lines or PICC lines.
• Advanced Radiographs
• Maintain and care for Ventilator Cases
• Level 2 & 3 Inpatient Care
• Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted license to practice veterinary technology in Washington State
• Experience in a fast-paced emergency setting preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passionate about animal care and patient interaction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognized veterinary technician program
• Knowledge of veterinary pharmacology and anatomy
• Basic computer skills

Skills

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends

Pay

LVT Pay Scale: $26.75 - $51.32 / hour. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends.

Schedule

This is a full-time position that requires flexibility to work nights and weekends and holidays. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For Example Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00
