Veterinary Technician - Radiation Oncology Anesthesia
About the role
The College of Veterinary Medicine at MU is dedicated to educating and training outstanding clinicians and scientists, generating new knowledge, engaging stakeholders, and promoting the health and welfare of animals and people. The Oncology Service is seeking a highly motivated licensed veterinary technician to join a team of board-certified oncologists, residents, interns, registered veterinary technicians, and veterinary assistants.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the anesthetic preparation, delivery, monitoring, and recovery of patients receiving radiation therapy treatments.
- Absorb and maintain patient care, including sample collections, sedations, and procedures such as biopsies and minor surgical procedures, and imaging procedures (radiographs, ultrasound, CT).
- Maintain anesthetic equipment/tools and adhere to controlled drug management and record keeping protocols.
- Ensure appropriate application of fees for services to patient bills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Graduation from an AVMA accredited Veterinary Technology Program.
- Licensure as a Registered Veterinary Technician in the State of Missouri, or eligibility to obtain Missouri Licensure within 6 months after start date.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an oncology service or practice is desirable, but not required.

Pay
Hiring range begins at $19.00 per hour for new graduates without a license and $20.00 per hour for those with a license.
Schedule
Shifts are during the days, Monday through Friday.
