Are you passionate about animal care and ready to make an impact in a growing community? Elm City Vet – Primary Care in New Haven, CT is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician to provide exceptional care for pets and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Play a vital part in delivering comprehensive care to pets at every stage of their health journey in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years Veterinary Technician experience.
  • Associates in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
  • CVT license is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Anesthesia and monitoring.
  • Phlebotomy knowledge.
  • Knowledge of the procedures used for scheduling patients, receiving, treating, ordering medical supplies, and requesting laboratory tests.
  • Knowledge of the use, care, and storage of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of sterilization techniques to sterilize various instruments and materials.
  • Knowledge of the instruments, materials, and standardized procedures used in the full variety of treatments to prepare and provide “tableside” assistance.
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
  • Must be 18 years or older to apply.

Qualifications

  • Confidence in all aspects of general practice, including anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring, drug calculations and protocols, dentistry, and surgery.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Pay

Compensation based on experience starting at $22.00-$26.00 an hour.

Schedule

This is a full-time position: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - 9:45am-8pm Rotating Saturdays - 9:45am-4pm.
