Veterinary Technician, Per Diem

About the role

PEAK Veterinary Referral Center in Williston, VT is hiring an experienced Per Diem Veterinary Technician to join our multi-specialty team. This flexible opportunity allows you to continue building your clinical skills while working alongside experienced doctors, specialists, and Veterinary Technicians in a collaborative hospital environment.

Responsibilities

- Triaging incoming patients and managing clients throughout their visit - Partnering with DVM’s in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures - Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates - Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment - Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events

Qualifications

- Minimum of 1+ year of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting required. Recent graduates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology will be considered; CVT, LVT, or VTS desired but not required. - Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to develop and foster long-term positive working relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community. - Work well independently and in a team environment where colleagues lead by example and hold themselves accountable for quality medicine and customer service. - Strong computer skills to work with a paperless information system. - Flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and good time-management skills to work in a fast-paced environment that can be highly stressful at times.

PEAK is a 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multi-specialty veterinary hospital providing care to pets throughout the region. Our specialty services include Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, and Behavior. We proudly serve pet owners and referring veterinarians throughout Vermont, northern New York, and New Hampshire. In 2021, we expanded our services with a seven-day-a-week Urgent Care department to support the non-critical medical needs of pets in the greater Burlington, Vermont area and beyond.
