About the role

The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications.

Requirements

  • Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required
  • Licensed Technician preferred, but not required
  • Proficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injections
  • Proficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipment
  • Team player
  • Eager to learn and is self-motivated
  • Enjoys a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task with a smile

Pay

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $20 - $25/ hour for non-licensed techs and $25-30/hour for licensed techs. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Schedule

Part time - 3 days a week and no weekends. Schedule may include Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, with occasional Mondays.
