Veterinary Technician - Non-Credentialed

Hanover Park Animal Care Center is seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and motivated Veterinary Technician to join our team in a supportive and dynamic environment. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative setting, is eager to learn, and has a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Client Communication & Education:
  • Obtain patient histories
  • Explain discharge and medication instructions
  • Conduct follow-up and progress calls (On-site training available)
• Patient Handling & Medical Support:
  • Restrain animals and assist doctors during exams
  • Provide care and treatment to hospitalized patients
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placements
  • Assist with surgical prep and recovery, including anesthesia monitoring
  • Conduct basic in-house lab work and pre-surgical screenings
  • Perform dental cleanings under anesthesia
  • Take digital radiographs (On-site training available for all tasks above)
• Hospital Support Duties:
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Sterilize surgical instruments
  • Answer phone calls and help with appointment scheduling as needed (On-site training available)

Requirements

• Previous experience in veterinary medicine (preferred)
• Weekend availability (required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted (more with assistance)
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and PPE usage

Pay

The base hourly range for this full-time position is $15.00 - $21.00. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This position is also eligible for a periodic bonus.
