Veterinary Technician Manager-Specialty
Job Summary
BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Technician Manager to lead the non-surgical service departments including Cardiology, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Oncology, and Dermatology at their Sandy Springs location. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency as a Veterinary Technician or Advanced Patient Care Associate, possess excellent time management, follow-through, and organizational skills, and have a passion for building successful teams.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate highly advanced proficiency as a Veterinary Technician or Advanced Patient Care Associate within their appropriate department and maintains all related skills and knowledge.
- Create effective working relationships with hospital leadership to ensure standards of care are understood, effectively communicated, and delivered upon.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert and resource to Technicians and Assistants regarding daily operations, patient care, and skill development.
- Serve as a mentor to staff by demonstrating positive work habits, effective clinical skills and business knowledge.
- Identify conflicts in the workplace and seek assistance in resolution in order to create effective working relationships.
- Coach staff to create a culture of strong performance and high productivity.
- Clearly communicate with team members to ensure consistent understanding of new ideas, changes in protocol, policies, and impending changes.
- Build positive relationships across the hospital and administration to facilitate an environment of teamwork.
- Implement process improvement initiatives.
- Work with the Technician Training Manager to schedule ongoing training.
- Document performance-related issues, assesses team members during annual review, and provides hospital leadership with recommendations related to performance management and discipline.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency as a Veterinary Technician or Advanced Patient Care Associate within their appropriate department.
- Excellent time management, follow-through, and organizational skills.
- Passion for leading and motivating a team of veterinary professionals.
- Experience managing non-surgical service departments in a veterinary setting.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff and leadership.
- Strong communication and coaching skills.
