Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Technician with a passion for Internal Medicine to join our specialized team at Pieper Veterinary in Middletown, CT. Responsibilities

• Perform advanced Internal Medicine procedures, including endoscopy, anesthesia, and anesthetic monitoring.
• Conduct medical math and drug calculations following established protocols.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to improve patient care and team success.
• Assist with CPR and utilize EzyVet and SmartFlow (experience a plus).
• Schedule patients, receive and treat them, order medical supplies, and request laboratory tests.
• Use, care for, and store veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment.
• Sterilize instruments and materials using standardized techniques.
• Prepare and provide tableside assistance for a variety of treatments.
• Assess client needs, ensure service quality, and evaluate client satisfaction.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of Veterinary Technician experience.
• Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology is a plus.
• CVT license is a plus.
• Knowledge of anesthesia and monitoring.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy.
• Strong understanding of veterinary instruments, materials, and equipment, including their use, care, and storage.
• Familiarity with sterilization techniques.
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and composition.
• Ability to work independently and accept direction on assigned tasks.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Schedule

Full-time position: 4 days a week, 10-hour shifts. Some holidays are required.

Pay

$24.50–$32.00/hour, dependent upon experience.
