Veterinary Technician - Internal Medicine

About the role

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Internal Medicine department in Tukwila, WA!

Responsibilities

• A liaison between our internists and our clients regarding patient histories, care instructions, lab results, patient updates, and other topics as requested by the doctors.
• Involvement with client contact through phone calls, email, and in-person conversations.
• Assisting with endoscopic and ultrasound procedures, filling prescriptions, taking x-rays, and obtaining lab samples.
• Strong anesthesia and phlebotomy skills required.
• Setting up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculating all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia.
• Setting up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
• Setting up and assisting with endoscopic procedures (GI, nasal, urinary, airway).
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment following procedure.
• Discharging IM patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as insulin injection, SQ fluid, and feeding tube demonstrations.
• Additional job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S.
• Not requiring future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Pay

LVT Pay: $26.75 - $51.32/Hr. This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for weekends.

Schedule

Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.
